About Kom Ut

Kom Ut is a quarterly magazine, focusing on sexual politics, reporting as well as producing contemporary discourse over queer politics and culture. It contains reading that feeds your thought and spirit. Always designed in with a fingerspitzgefuhl for fun, creative and über-intriguing magazine design.
Kom Ut – which tranlates as ‘Come out’ in English – is editorially independent from RFSL – The Swedish Federation for LGBT rights – which is its owner. Being editorially independent means that no one but the editors employed to work with the magazine can decide over content.
All members of RFSL receive the magazine in the mail. The rest of the circulation is distributed in restaurants, pubs, saunas, video clubs, cafés and other meeting spots across Sweden, at no cost.
On our website we publish most of the articles from each issue. Some of the material is originally written in English, by one of our many friends in the global LGBT activist community. In the magazine these texts are translated into Swedish, but since we launched our website in December 2010, we are happy to be able to publish the original English texts right here.
